Q.E.D. is a short trip from Manhattan on the N train to Queens. Just stay on all the way to Astoria–Ditmars Blvd at the end of the line, and walk a couple of blocks west on 23rd Avenue. (The W train does not run on weekends.)

Meet our readers: William Shunn

          

William Shunn hosts and produces the Line Break Reading Series, and edits the new online literary journal The Piltdown Review. He is the author of the award-nominated memoir The Accidental Terrorist: Confessions of a Reluctant Missionary, as well as more than three dozen short stories. His poetry has appeared in Sunstone and Analog, and is forthcoming in Asimov's. When not hosting shows or writing about the future, Bill enjoys sneaking onto other people's television specials. In an alternate timeline, he makes his living as a the world's sixth most highly paid assassin.

Meet our readers: David Rothman

          

David Rothman has taught writing for the City University of New York for over ten years. His short stories have appeared in such journals as Glimmer Train, Hybrido, The Prague Review, and The Nassau Review, among others. He has shared the bill at live events with such luminaries as Francisco Goldman, and has recently completed a novel that might be best described as "magical real-estatism."

Meet our readers: Sarah Riccio

          

Sarah Riccio studied writing at Brooklyn College. After a storied career slinging beer in Astoria, she now writes for an online sleep resource about bedding and industry news. She never thought she'd get paid to lie on a mattress all day in that capacity . . .

Sarah is a Line Break regular known for her caustic and provocative essays, which she has also performed at Taboo Tales NYC. Her essay "Kids on Division Street," which she debuted at Line Break #1a, will appear later this year in The Piltdown Review, while her essay "Lauretta's Lesson" from Line Break #4 will appear soon in Precipice Magazine.

Sahar Muradi is author of the chapbook [ G A T E S ] from Black Lawrence Press / is co-editor of One Story, Thirty Stories: An Anthology of Contemporary Afghan American Literature / is co-founder of the Afghan American Artists and Writers Association / has been the recipient of the Stacy Doris Memorial Poetry Award, a Kundiman Poetry Fellowship, and an Asian American Writers' Workshop Open City Fellowship / has an MFA in poetry from Brooklyn College, an MPA in international development from NYU, and a BA in creative writing from Hampshire College / directs the poetry programs at City Lore / and dearly believes in the bottom of the rice pot. Meet our readers: Olena Jennings

          

Olena Jennings is the author of the collection of poetry Songs from an Apartment (Underground Books, 2017). Her translations of Ukrainian poetry appeared in the anthologies Words for War (Academic Studies Press, 2017, together with Oksana Lutsyshyna) and The White Chalk of Days (Academic Studies Press, 2017), as well as The Common, Poetry International, and Wolf. She is the host of the Poets of Queens reading series.

A gigantic thanks to everyone who turned out for our twentieth regular episode of Line Break this past Saturday, at beautiful Q.E.D. in Astoria, Queens. Just by showing up and giving us the gift of your attention, you helped make the afternoon bigger and better than it would have been without you.
